Please consider joining the SMART Coalition, newly incorporated as Save Money and Reduce Traffic (SMART) Inc.. We are not seeking membership dues: we simply seek your support for our efforts.

Here's the "skinny" on the issue:

1.) the Ontario Gov't. established a Growth Plan that would be a model for future development and it legislated that all development must "conform" to the Growth Plan (basically they created a plan to avoid uncontrolled urban sprawl and the problems it brings)

2.) the Ministry of Transportation is now working to put a highway through an area that does not "conform" to the growth plan

3.) the SMART Coalition is opposing this and launching a lawsuit to stop it - we believe that the government must be accountable and must abide by existing legislation.
